For this purpose, we compare the Chinaʼs economic development period with Taiwan using three indicators: namely, the changes of industrial structure, trade structure and international investment. The analysis periods are after 1952 in Taiwan and after 1978 in China. The analysis results are as follows. From the industrial structure perspective, Taiwanʼs industrial structural change is consistent with Petty-Clarkʼs law; whereby as the economic grows in Taiwan, the industrial structure shifted from primary sector to secondary sector, and subsequently to tertiary sector. Meanwhile, in China, as the economic grows, the production of primary sector has decreased, at the same time the production of tertiary sector has increased. Since the changes of their industrial structure are different, we cannot declare whether Chinaʼs economic development was shorter than Taiwan.
